Legal committee shortlists 130 lawyers for SAN

The Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee has shortlisted the names of 130 lawyers to be awarded with the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

The LPPC listed the shortlisted candidates in newspaper publications on Wednesday.The acting Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court and Secretary of the LPPC, Haji Bello, stated that the successful candidates emerged from both the advocate filtration stages and academic pre-qualification exercise.

He said 95 of the shortlisted candidates emerged from the advocate category while the other 35 emerged from the academic category.

IBello also invited members of the public to comment on the integrity, competence, and reputation of the candidate.

Some of the shortlisted candidates are Nwafor Orizu Orji, Abubakar Adamu, West-Idahosa Ehiogie, Offia Ota, Ovrawah Ogaga.

“However, any complaint(s) presented to the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee must be accompanied with a verifying affidavit deposed to before a court of record,” Haji said

Some from the academic category are Oyewo Toriola, Omorogbe Osayame, Onikepo Braithwaite and Ojukwu Okechukwu
