Tourists Traveling to Nigeria
If you are travelling to Nigeria, you are required to take a COVID‑19 PCR test and provide information, as well as documents, on the Nigerian International Travel Portal before departure.
COVID‑19 testing requirements
All passengers travelling to Nigeria must test negative for COVID‑19 in the country of departure. The COVID‑19 PCR test validity must be done within 96 hours of departure at government specified laboratories at the respective departure countries. Passengers must present an electronic or hard copy of the result at the airport. Children of the age ten (10) and below are exempt from the COVID‑19 PCR test.
Passengers originating from the United Kingdom and South Africa MUST present the following two documents before departure.
- Pre‑departure permit permit to fly/ QR code generated from the Nigerian International Travel Portal showing evidence of payment for post‑arrival day 7 COVID‑19 PCR test and;
- A negative COVID‑19 PCR test certificate done within 96 hours (4 days) before boarding from a verified testing facility
All passengers will be required to self‑isolate for 7 days after arrival, followed by a COVID‑19 PCR test. Passengers with a post‑arrival negative COVID‑19 PCR test result can exit isolation on day 8. Those with a positive COVID‑19 PCR test will be referred for isolation and further management.
Required forms
The Nigerian International Travel Portal is available and passengers are strongly advised to utilize the portal to provide required health information, upload the pre‑departure negative COVID‑19 PCR test, Health Declaration and Self‑reporting forms. A second COVID‑19 PCR test must be completed within 7 days of arrival in Nigeria and the payment can be done through the Nigerian International Travel Portal, which will generate a QR code that can be utilized to expedite clearance procedures upon arrival at the airports.
Diplomats are advised to use the online portal to upload the negative COVID‑19 PCR test pre‑departure however not required to pay for a second PCR test in Nigeria.
Passengers must fill the Health Declaration/Self Reporting form before arrival. It is recommended to upload the form through the Nigerian International Travel portal. Please make sure that the information/contact details you provide on the form are correct, verifiable and that you can be reached on the phone number and address provided. Passengers must inform port health officials on arrival of any change in their health circumstances since submitting the Health Declaration/Self‑Reporting form.
Tourists Traveling from Nigeria
COVID‑19 testing requirements
Passengers travelling from Nigeria must present a valid negative COVID‑19 PCR test certificate for a test taken no more than 48 hours before departure. The certificate must be issued by an approved laboratory in Nigeria.
Passengers travelling from Nigeria to the UAE must fly on direct flights to be eligible for entry.
Required forms
Valid proof of their possession of health insurance covering the entirety of their stay in the UAE. Sufficient proof of accommodation address in the UAE, in form of a hotel booking or similar reservation which corresponds with the time period reflected on their ticket and a valid return ticket.

Passengers travelling to Dubai from any other departure point will not be accepted if they have been in, or connected through Nigeria, within the previous 14 days.
