FG confirms Ebola case in FCT, identifies 44 contacts

The Federal Government has confirmed an imported case of Ebola disease in Abuja, FCT, following laboratory confirmation on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.

Health Minister Prof. Ali Pate, speaking on NTA, said the patient is in isolation receiving care, while 44 close contacts have been identified for tracing to prevent spread.

The Ministry, NCDC and FCT Health Services Secretariat are coordinating the response, urging health facilities to remain vigilant and report suspected cases.
